New York -- Hilton is located 12 miles northwest of
Rochester, NY in Monroe County
Located near culturally-rich Rochester, New York and
on t he northern fringe of the world-renown Finger
Lakes as well as directly on the southern shore of
Lake Ontario, the Hilton Central School District excels in many dimensions.

Character of Hilton Community
The suburban-rural Hilton Central School District was
centralized in 1949 incorporating 17 area common schools. The district
is a blend of tracts, farms, open space and
shoreline bordering Lake Ontario and Braddock Bay.
There are four towns comprising the district: the
Town of Parma,
the Town of
Greece, the
Town of Clarkson, and the
Town of Hamlin
and the Village of
Hilton. Located about 12 miles northwest of
Rochester,
New York, the District's five schools and
transportation facility are located on an attractive
212-acre campus with numerous athletic fields
surrounded by streams and woodland. All Hilton
Central School District students are transported
except those grades 7-12 students living in the
Village of Hilton who have sidewalks available and
live less than 0.9 mi. from Hilton High School or
0.6 mi. from Merton William s Middle School. To

Environment
Progressive School District
The Hilton Central School District is a
progressive district instructionally, technologically, and
in its facility renovations and upgrades. Both Hilton
High School and Quest Elementary School are authorized
International Baccalaureate Programmes. The IB diploma
is offered at Hilton High School. Extensive use of
instructional technology has positioned the district in the
forefront of learning through the use of wireless and
in-classroom innovations linked to the
Internet. There are school librarians at each of the
district's five schools. In the past decade, the District
has completed several
Capital Projects which have upgraded,
renovated and expanded the instructional capacity including
new classrooms and gymnasiums, renovation of existing space,
parking and traffic improvements, new athletic fields and a
new Aquatic Center.
Full day kindergarten opened September 2004.
Hilton High School is an International
Baccalaureate-authorized school and was named to
Newsweek's List of Top High Schools. Hilton High
School offers a thorough Program of Studies which includes
Advanced Placement,
International Baccalaureate diploma and exam
opportunities, as well as
Career & Technical Education endorsements in business
management, pre-engineering and early childhood/elementary
education; college credit opportunities and
Driver Education.
Prekindergarten opened in
September 2007. A
YMCA-sponsored
Child Care
Before and After School Program serving elementary-age
students is available. Four of the five schools are
located within the village of Hilton. Serving a suburban population of ~25,000
residents, the District encompasses 68 square miles of
primarily rural/suburban
Monroe County in
central-west New York
State.

Directions to Hilton via Rochester,
NY and NYS Thruway is
located about 18 miles north of the NYS Thruway Rt. 90 and
connects to Rochester via Rt. 490 or Rt. 390. Additionally,
Rt. 390 intersects Rt. 490. Central Office, 225 West Ave.,
Hilton: From Rochester, NY, take Rt. 490 West to 390 North.
Bear west at the Ontario State Parkway until Rt. 259
[Hilton]. Turn left, south, and travel about five miles to
the Village of Hilton. From the center of the Village of
Hilton turn right onto Rt. 18, which is West Avenue. Travel
about 1/8 mi. west until you reach the Quest/West Avenue
School building on your le ft. Parking is available on the
right [west side] of the building.

Community Events and Area
Newspapers Annually the Hilton community pulls
together for the autumn
Apple Fest. The daily newspaper in the
greater Rochester area is the
Democrat
& Chronicle. The weekly newspapers in the area are
the Suburban News
and the Greece Post.
The Hilton School District celebrated its 50th year of
centralization in 1999 as well as graduating its 100th High
School graduating class that same year. The
Hilton High School Alumni Hall of
Fame was instituted in 1999.
